Born Margaret Marvelle JONES in Tucson, AZ, the daughter of Southern Pacific railroad engineer Tully Jones (of Denham Springs, LA) and his wife, Ethel Louise (Sawyer) Jones (of Key West, FL). She was the daughter-in-law of William G. Currier (1888-1947) and Iva Grace Currier (1889-1974), both of Kansas City, MO and longtime residents of Tucson. "Marvelle", as she was known to friends and family, was an avid golfer through her late 70's, a member of the Old Pueblo Club and the Tucson National CC, and was an accomplished tournament bridge player; she was married more than 55-years to Ralph Victor Currier (1918-1999) her Tucson High School sweetheart and retired Southern Pacific railroad senior operations manager; she was a member of Sahauro Christian Church. All members of both families are buried at South Lawn Cemetery-Tucson, AZ. She gave birth to 3 sons: (1) Ralph Victor Currier, Jr.; (2) Kenneth Reid Currier; and (3) Paul Tully Currier, all born in Tucson, AZ.
