Sarah Alvina Preston was a daughter of Ederick Preston and Annar Winslow. She was born in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, then moved with her family to Bureau County, Illinois. There she met and married Lafayette Eastlick (1858). Their first two children, Willard and Frances, were born in Bureau County. Then the couple moved to Siskiyou County, California, where they had Belinda, Ederick and Cassie.
