Grant Archer

Grant Archer was entered into rest on May 12, 2002 at Ross Memorial Hospital. Grant, in his 83rd year, was the beloved husband of Janet Fee for 61 years. Loving father of Faye and her husband Jack Chatten of Frankford, Bonnie and her husband Alvin McFadyen of Bethany, Elizabeth and her husband Jim Dermedy of Lindsay and Randall and his wife Deanne of Bracebridge. Lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren. Dear brother of Irene Barry, Russell, Lola Endicott, Cora Blake, Amy Hutton, Donald, Bill, Arnold and Taylor, all predeceased.
Originally from Anson Township, the son of Thomas Joseph & Minnie May (Taylor) Archer, he lived virtually all of his life in Lindsay. Educated at Queen Victoria Public School.
After serving in the Canadian Army Reserves during the Second World War, Grant worked on the family farm then operated Archer's Dairy in Lindsay for a number of years. He later returned to farming and also drove a transport truck. He worked at the Lindsay Community Sale Barn for 30 years until his retirement.
A member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Grant also enjoyed watching television, especially hockey games, playing euchre and, most importantly, spending time with his family. Grant was a kind, gentle and quiet man, but a strongly devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all of his family.
The eulogy was given by son-in-law Jack Chatten. His granddaughter, Stacy Damji , gave a Tribute to Grandpa on behalf of the grandchildren.
