Olga Benson
Olga Benson, 85, of Lanesboro, died Thursday, April 13, 1989, at Tweeten Memorial Hospital in Spring Grove, Minn. She was hospitalized the past two weeks and had been ill the last five months.
She was born March 7, 1904 to Odolph and Julia Storlie Ganrud in rural Lanesboro. She married Raymond Benson on Aug 20, 1938, in Spring Grove, Minn.; he died on Jan. 21, 1981.
She was a cook for the Conservation Corps camps and for White Front Cafe in Lanesboro. She also was a clerk many years for Don Allen's Grocery. She and her husband owned and operated a cafe in Spring Grove.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Daughters of Norway.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Flattum of Lanesboro; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Reishus of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three sisters, Gilma Onsgard, Gladys Larson and Selma Trehus, all of Spring Grove.
Her husband, an infant daughter, two brothers and two sisters have died.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, the Rev. John Backus officiated.
Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Spring Grove.
Johnson-Riley Funeral Home, Lanesboro was in charge of arrangements.
