Manitowoc Herald News, Manitowoc, Wis. Monday, March 1, 1920 P. 1: "OLD RESIDENT, VETERAN OF THE CIVIL WAR, DIES Robert Watts, an old resident of the city, died at his home on Chicago street Sunday night at the advanced age of 78 years. Mrs. Watts is a patient at the hospital, suffering from injuries she received in a fall recently. Mr. Watts was a veteran of the civil war having served as a member of Co. G. 39th Wisconsin. Surviving Mr. Watts is a widow and four children. The Rev. George Watts, rector of St. Peters church, Columbia, Tenn., Miss Nettie Watts, assistant city librarian, Joseph Watts, who is serving in the regular army and stationed in Massachusetts and Mrs. L.C. Churchill of Windom, Minn. One sister, Miss Elizabeth Watts of Milwaukee, also survives. The funeral will be held from St. James church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock and the G.A.R. and W.R.C. will attend."
