ANNA MARIA BLALOCK passed from this life Monday morning, April 4, 2011, in Pasadena.
Born March 27, 1935 in Mexico City, Mexico, Mrs. Blalock had been a resident of the Galveston/Houston area since 1956. She had been employed as a security guard with Gordon's Jewelers for 14 years and thoroughly enjoyed spending her time sewing. She was a wonderful seamstress and poet.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Heinz Blalock and her parents, Fernando and Mary Ann (Bangs) Gonzalez.
Survivors include her sons, Earl William Blalock, Earl Jesus Blalock, Harry Anthony Blalock, all of Houston; daughters, Mary Ann Sanchez and husband, Ricardo, Nora Blalock and husband, Roy Guerra, all of South Houston; grandchildren, Gregg Anthony Blalock, Anna Maria Fuentes; great-grandchildren, Mikayla Blalock, Isabelle Blalock, Vivian Pruneda, Gabrielle Fuentes, Amanda Fuentes; brothers, Carlos Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez; sisters, Marina Decker, Bertha Silva and Rosa Lozano.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery with Deacon Fernando Gonzalez Bangs and Father Jesus LeZarde officiating under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Casketbearers will be Earl Blalock, Gregg Blalock, Alex Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez, Glen Scruggs and Joe Silva, Jr.
