DANVILLE - Hazel Chaffin Dickens, 72, of Danville, WV, went home to be with the Lord, Sept. 24, 2003, after a short illness. She was a retired florist and attended Joes Creek Baptist Church and was a member of Van United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husbands, C.L. Chaffin and Harold Noble Dickens; parents, Albert and Gladys Welch; brothers, Lawrence, Harold and Albert, Jr. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Rex Pauley of Sod, Alana and Philip Snead of North Augusta, S.C.; one son and his wife, Clyde Chaf Jesse Wilkfin and Lynn of Madison; grandsons, Jeremy, Josh, Dustin and David; granddaughters, Melissa, Rexanna and Beth; several nieces and nephews; and a special great-nephew, Jeffrey Allen; two brothers and their wives, Pat and Faye Welch of Lick Creek and Dewey and Millie Welch of Concord, N.C. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Ralph Reedy and the Rev. Lester Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison.
