Melissa Ann Spudich was born April 15, 1979 to Michael Anthony Spudich Sr.and Anna Schollerat at the West Point Military Academy in New York. She has a sister Jennifer Lynn Spudich and two brothers, Michael Anthony Spudich II and Nicholas Joseph Spudich. Her extended Family includes numerous Aunts, Uncles. Friends and Loved ones. Most importent to Melissa was her son Brett Joseph Baker who was born on March 25, 2008.

Melissa had a unique way of touching so many people in the short time she was given and she will be missed by us all for many different reasons. Sadly she will be missed the most by her son Brett Joseph who will never had the opportunity to come to know his Mother the way we did. Our hope and my prayer is that he may get to know her through our eyes, through our memories and mostly through the love we have for Melissa in our hearts!

Melissa was a 1997 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and a 2006 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania where she received a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. She served with the U. S. Marine Corps and worked as a Corrections Officer at the Greene County Prison in Waynesburg, Pa.

This poem was read at my Mothers funeral and I shared it at Melissa's as well!

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
