MABLE CAPPERS
Mable Mardell (Biggie) Cappers, 87, of Cleburne died Thursday, July 11, at
her residence. She was born May 3, 1915 in Whitney, daughter of Zachriah
Taylor and Cornie Bell Worley Peacock. She worked at the state hospital in
Carlsbad (Texas) until she retired and moved to Whitney in 1977. She had
been a resident of Cleburne since 1999. She was a member of Missionary
Baptist Church of Whitney. She married Birt Cappers in 1939 in Whitney, and
he preceded her in death February 25, 1978. She was also preceded in death
by one daughter, Barbara O'Neal; one great-grandson, Bubba Heath; and one
great-grand-daughter, Jeannie Earley. Survivors include: one daughter,
Shirley Harwell Lain of Cleburne; nine grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grand-children. Funeral services
were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral
Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Durwood Rutland officiating. Burial
was at Whitney Memorial Park.
