ELDRIDGE, Iowa -- Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Robert F. "Bob" Schultz, 54, Eldridge, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church, Long Grove. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service offered at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday until service time at the church.

Mr. Schultz died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, after a 5-year battle with cancer.

Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 30, 1948, in Moline, the son of Francis Schultz and Eda (Arlen) Schultz.

He was employed as a quality engineer for John Deere Works, Dubuque and Davenport.

Robert F. Schultz married Kathy Trowbridge on June 14, 1980, at Immaculate Conception Church, Keeler, Wis.

Bob was a member of St. Ann Church. He served on the Long Grove Park Board and was an officer at the Long Grove Sportsmen Club. He loved snowmobiling, baseball, the Packers and John Deere. He always took part in his children's activities and took great pride in his home and yard. He was a very devoted husband and father.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; sons, Joe Schultz and Andy Schultz, and a daughter Emily Schultz, all at home; parents, Francis and Eda Schultz, Dubuque; brothers, Dan Schultz, and his wife, Lois, Asbury, Iowa, and Jamie Schultz, and his wife, Glen Ann, Lincoln, Neb.; brothers-in-law, Mike Trowbridge, Hazel Green, Wis., and Gary Trowbridge, and his wife, Peggy, Keeler; sister-in-law, Hatsumi (Lin) Trowbridge, Hazel Green; father-in-law, Gordy Trowbridge, and his wife, Mary Lou, Keeler; and eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Schultz, in 1981; a brother-in-law, Steve Trowbridge, in 1999; and his mother-in-law, Rosemary Trowbridge, in 1991.
