Janice was a 1955 graduate of Muncie Central High School and on July 29, 1956 married the love of her life, Jack Gooding. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and her cats, Sonny & Gracee. She loved animals of all kinds, often caring for strays. She was a member of the Cammack United Methodist Church where she was involved in the United Methodist Women's group. She was also a member of TOPS Club.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, Jack, she is survived by two daughters, Julie Matchett (husband-Gary), and Cheryl Randall (husband-Eric), both of Yorktown; eight grandchildren, Zachary Matchett (finacee-Lauren Davis), Jessica, Caitlin, Christian and Noah Matchett, Gabi, Chase and Pierce Randall, all of Yorktown; a special friend, Marilyn Cartwright; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cammack United Methodist Church, 1901 N. Cammack St., with the Revs. Emily and Woody Sears officiating. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery, north of Yorktown. Friends may call from noon until time of service on Saturday at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue Fund or Cammack United Methodist Church, with envelopes available at the service.
