Rachael Irene Waldrop, 81, of Booneville, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Longwood Manor Living Center after a brief illness.

Services were held Wednesday, June 18, at 3 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Holland officiating. Burial was in Bethany Cemetery.

Mrs. Waldrop was a graduate of Caledonia High School. She attended Union University, Blue Mountain College, and received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Mississippi State University. She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She taught elementary, school in Jackson, West Point, Booneville and Saltillo before retiring in 1985 with over 40 years of service. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and playing bridge. She was a member of the Bethany AR Presbyterian Church. She had taught Sunday School and worked in Vacation Bible School for many years in the Booneville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one sister, Mary I. Waldrop of Bonneville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Henry G. and Isabella Agnew Waldrop and a brother, Henry J. Waldrop Jr.
