Ernestine VanHoose Hackney, 84, of Sitka, died Sunday in Martin County Health Care Center in Inez.

She was born September 5, 1926, in Johnson County.

Her husband, Edgil Hackney, survives.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sitka Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park near Staffordsville.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Jones-Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
