Funeral services were held in Minneapolis Saturday afternoon with further services on Sunday afternoon in the Cobb Funeral chapel.
The Rev. Robert Smith of Dickens assisted by Rev. W. O. Tompkins, were the officiating ministers. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
Samuel Guy Cutshall, son of Samuel L. Cutshall and Janette Cutshall, pioneer settlers in Clay County, was born April 5, 1882. At the time of his death he was 62 years and 3 months of age.
He lived on the home farm in Lake Township until the family moved to Dickens in 1906. In Dickens he was employed for a number of years by the Platt Hardware company. Later he lived for a time in North Dakota and for seven years in California. He returned to Spencer to continue electrical work and to assist in the care of his aging parents.
He returned to Minneapolis and in January, 1935 was married to Mary Edgerton Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Cutshall continued to make that city their home until his death.
Besides his wife he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Alvin Cutshall, Terrill; Mrs. J.O. Davidson, Dickens; Ray Cutshall, Los Angeles; Mrs. A.W. Johnson, Grants Pass, Oregon; Inez Cutshall, Minneapolis; Eugene Cutshall, Dunnell, Minn; and Mrs M.C. Peterson, Tulare, Calif. There are also anumber of nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Fred Cutshall.
The obituary fails to mention that his sister Mary Dorcas Swingley also preceeded him in death.
