Born in Montville, Connecticut, Bill was the son of William and Lorene (Favro) Babcock. He was a World War II sailor in the Pacific Campaign. He told me he participated in fire suppression and taking wounded off the stricken aircraft carrier, USS Franklin, after it was hit by 4 kimikaze planes during the battle at Leyte Gulf.
Bill worked for General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division for 40 years as a Senior Master Planner during Submarine Construction at the Groton, Connecticut plant. He was well respected by all co-workers and Shipyard management for his expertise.
In 1952 he married Lois Roselund who survives him. He is also survived by a son Alan, daughter Eileen, six grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and two sisters.

He was a big-time New York Yankees fan.
