Mr. McPherson was born Oct. 17, 1917 in Pottsville, the son of Winsor Barton Sr. and Emma Clabaugh McPherson. He was married to Frances Rudd on May 13, 1939 in Energy.
He worked for many years for the U.S.D.A. in the Canyon and Dalhart area before moving to the Hamilton office where he retired. Mr. McPherson's passion and hobby was breeding and rearing registered quarter horses. He was a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include four children, David R. McPherson and wife Mary, Nancy McPherson of Salado, Winnie Marie Rawson and husband Fred, Rex McPherson and wife Susan, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: one grandson, Brian Wallace Rawson, and one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth McDrumman.
