Donald Dancer, Sr. of Carlton, formerly of Sandstone and Finlayson, passed away April 3 at his son's residence in Carlton at the age of 78 years.
Born September 11, 1892, at Hubbard, Iowa, he lived most of his life in the Sandstone area. He was a retired employee of Land O Lakes Creamery in Sandstone. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Viola) Palmer of Finlayson, Mrs. Albert (Evelyn) Giese of Milaca, and Mrs. Alvin (Katherine) Allers of Gilbert; three sons, Harvey of Carlton, Kenneth of Gilbert and Donald of Royalton; 14 grandchildren , 23 great grandchildren; three brothers, Allswrith of Tripoli, Iowa, Ernest of Modesta, CA; and Charles of Jamestown, ND seven sisters, Mrs. Clifford Willie of Jamestown, ND Mrs. Emil Pharr of Jamestown, ND Mrs. Alfred Johnson of Holiday, ND; Mrs. Ethel Adams of Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. Leno Christensen of Oregon, Mrs. Erma Gilbertson of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. John Hillus of Oregon.
Services were Tuesday, April 6 at 2 p.m. at the Larson Funeral Home, Sandstone, Rev. Ralph Boyer officiating. Interment was at Sandstone Spring Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Wessel and Myers Funeral Home, Cloquet.
