Angeline was the daughter of Santo & Domenica Monakino, also buired there.
She had 2 sister and 2 brothers, Mary Monakino Sarao, Samuel(Sam)Monakino, Sr., Rose Monakino Reed & Anthony "Tony" Monakino. Santo, Domenica & Mary were born in St. Agatha Mesinna, Sicily, Italy. LaVon & Sam, Sr. Founded the Airline Super Market at Carby & Airline. Later
LaVon & Angeline Opened Von's Food Market on Airline. Angeline & Her Sister Rose were featured in Life Magazine in 1937 reflectin Famous Truck Stops across America. The original name of the Cafe was "The Cotton Belt Inn" later changed to Rosies Cafe. The Building still stands today in the 7200 Block of Airline. This Area was know as "Little Italy Texas". There are many other Surnames who joined the Monakino's in the Founding of this Italian Community. Many are buried at St. Joseph's.
