He received his education in Arcadia and Comstock, Neb. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Betty Montandon on Nov. 24, 1945 in Broken Bow, Neb. He was employed at Maytag and at Sorensen Motors in Hampton during his lifetime. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hampton. He was a life time member of the DAV, VFW and the American Legion. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. Lewis is survived by his wife, Betty Dockhorn, of Hampton; daughter-in-law, Jeri Dockhorn, of Clear Lake; sister, Grace and her husband, Sherman Sherbeck, of Vancouver, Wash., sister, Ora Mae Zahn, of Keizer, Ore., brother, Russell and his wife, Irene Dockhorn, of Ord, Neb., sister, Freda and her husband, Eldon Kokes, of Ord, Neb., brother, Gerald and his wife, Arwilda Dockhorn, of Lincoln, Neb., sister, Joan and her husband, Chris Weber, of Loveland, Colo., sister, Pearl Norton, of Lincoln, Colo., and brother, Darr and his wife, Arlene Dockhorn, of Grand Island, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Donald Eugene "Doc" Dockhorn and Dennis Allen Dockhorn; sister, Gwen Cunningham; and two brothers, Anson and Milo Dockhorn.
