Ethel Berry Benson, 96, retired secretary to the editor and book editor of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, died Tuesday at home.

Graveside Service: 2 p.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements: Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.

Mrs. Benson was born in Mingus and was with the Star-Telegram from 1922 until her retirement in 1964. She was a member of St. Stephen Presbyterian Church and the Woman's Club of Fort Worth.

Mrs. Benson was the widow of Charles A. Benson.

Memorials: the Star-Telegram Goodfellows Fund.

Survivors: Sister, Gladys Bickers of Newport News, Va.
