A native of Wayne City, George E. Miller, 77, of Salem, died in St. Mary's hospital in Centralia, IL.

Mr. Miller was born in Wayne City. He was the son of James Hiram Miller and Nancy Elvira Mayes.

He was married 2 times. First wife was Marion L Witter. Second wife was Nellie Blair White.

He was a member of the Methodist Church in Irvington and the Moose Lodge in Centralia and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.

Surviving are his wife, the former Nellie White; two sons, Elvert and Lewis; two daughters, Maxine Trimble and Irene Carter; three sisters, Luella Balding, Clara Neal, and Edna Trotter; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in Salem with burial in the Eastlawn Cemetery.
