Mrs. Perry Chilcott Dead.
It is with regret that we announce this week the death of Mrs. Perry Chilcott, formerly of Elmwood, who died Wednesday, September 27th,at Avondale, Colorado, to which point she, in company with her husband and family, went early in the summer in the hope of benefiting her rapidly failing health. Her death was due to consumption.
Burial was made at Avondale, which was the early home of Mr. Chilcott, and where a number of friends yet reside.
Mrs. Ella Sprague, of Elmwood, who was called to the bedside of her afflicted daughter last week, arrived a few days before death claimed its victim.
Mrs. Chilcott was formerly Miss Phoebe Plain and had been a resident of the Elmwood neighborhood since her early childhood days.
When she grew to womanhood she was wedded to Perry Chilcott, of that place, and to their union two sons were born, both of whom together with the sorrowing husband and other relatives, are left to mourn the departure of a devoted mother, dutiful wife, and loving relative and friend.
By her many deeds of love, and kindness she drew all who knew her to her. Her life was an exemplary one, characterized by her true Christianity, and her love will be deeply in the community in which she resided, as well as in the home which has been robbed of its most precious treasure - mother.
The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved ones in their sorrow, and in this the HERALD wishes to join in sincere regret for the untimely demise of one whom we all knew to love and respect.
