Virginia was the daughter of William Miller & Catharine Maupin. Her father was a dentist.

She married John Thomas Harris on 29 May 1854. John was an attorney and a judge - and served in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Virginia & John had eight children: Anna (Heard), Graham, John, Hatton, Clement, Emma (MacQueary), Virginia (Beall, Burch), & Edith (Sprinkel).

Note that Virginia & John have two tombstones. They have individual stones and then the larger double monument. The larger monument includes full dates.

Mrs. Harris, widow of the late Hon. John T. Harris of Harrisonburg, died Tuesday [sic] in St. Louis. The remains will be brought to Harrisonburg for Burial.
