Isaac R. Farley Dies at His Home Here 85 Years Old
Isaac Robinson Farley, aged 85, died at 9 o'clock this morning at his home, 1328 Porter Avenue, following an illness of five years. He was born in Hancock county, Illinois, March 7, 1837, and he came to Utah at the age of 15 years. He was married in Salt Lake March 11, 1858 to Madeline Malan. His wife died a few years ago. He is survived by a widow, Emily Malan Farley, sister of his first wife. He was a guard during the Echo canyon war and was one of the builders of Weber county. He moved to West Weber in 1869, from there to Mound Fort, where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a high priest, an active worker in the L.D.S. church and civic duties.
Sons and daughters surviving are Mrs. Ophelia Shaw of Ogden, Mrs. Julia Miller of Los Angeles, Edward Farley of Seattle, Simon Farley of Ogden, Mrs. Lettie Forsgreen of Ogden, Mrs. Mary Marriott, of Ogden, Mrs. Emma Maddock of Ogden, and 40 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. The body was removed to Lindquist's parlors and funeral announcement will be made later.
Funeral services for Isaac Farley will be held at 12:15 o'clock at the Seventh ward Sunday with Bishop William A. Budge officiating. the body may be viewed at the home 1220 Porter Avenue. Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday until the time of the services. burial will be in the city cemetery. In addition to children mentioned previously, there are surviving Mr. Farley, Mrs. Jennie Gibson of Ogden and Mrs. Ida Ferrin of Yakima Wash.
