Geraldine Evans
Towson, MD – Geraldine Evans, 86 formerly of Salisbury, MD and Wenona, MD died Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Genesis Brightwood Eldercare Center in Towson. Her death was due to natural causes.

Born on Smith Island, MD, she was a daughter of the late A. Schultz Tyler and Manie S. Evans Tyler. She was the wife of the Late Elbert C. Evans, Sr. who died on November 30, 1998.

She is survived by two sons, Elbert C. Evans Jr. of Finksburg, MD and Dr. William J. Evans of Baldwin, MD. A third son, Cecil V. Evans died in the Viet Nam War and was decorated with the Bronze Star with V attachment for Valor. Mrs. Evans was a Gold Star Mother. Her Grandchildren include Mark V. Evans of Kent Island, Russell and Stephen Evans of Finksburg and Will and Hillary Evans of Baldwin. There are numerous nieces and nephews. A brother, Homer Tyler resides in Crisfield, MD.

Mrs. Evans served as a Defense Worker during WW II at what is now Lockheed-Martin Aviation in Baltimore.

She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Wenona and also served as a Sunday School Teacher there.

A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Wenona, MD at 2:00PM on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Foard will officiate.

Friends may call at the church from 12:00PM to the start of the funeral at 2:00PM.
