Graveside services for Mary Frances Whitehead Jones, 90, of Marshall were held in Hallsville cemetery.

Mary Frances McDowell was born near Sulphur Springs in Hopkins County, Texas. As a child, she moved with her parents by covered wagon to Young County, Texas.

Miss Mary Frances Whitehead married Jessie Murrell Deering on 14 February 1925 at Olney, Texas and the couple moved to the Panhandle. He was a welder. Three children were born to that union: Frances Murrell, Rosemary and infant.

In 1951, Mrs. Mary Frances Deering married Emmett Jones. He preceded her in death.

She attended school in Orth, Young County, Texas. She raised her family in Pampa and Amarillo where he was a member of the Paramount Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survived by two daughters - Frances Murrell Downing of San Diego, CA; Rosemary Anderson of Hallsville; sister - Pauline Lowe of Olney; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
