She was born on July 11, 1938 in Fort Smith, AR. to the late Henry and Matline Madison.
She was a member and deaconess of Unity Missionary Baptist Church and a nurse's aid.
She is survived by her sister Ruby Smith of Muskegon, Michigan, daughters: Elaine Castleberry of Roland, OK., Velda Carter of Dallas, TX. and Dorothea Joseph of Fort Smith, AR., sons: Greylan Williams of Fort Smith, AR., Phillip Knauls of Miami, FL., Lester Knauls of Atlanta, GA., James Knauls of Temple, TX., Tony Knauls of Tulsa, OK., Michael Knauls of Fort Smith, AR., Thurman Knauls of Roland, OK., Greg Canady of Fort Smith, AR. and Charles Canady also of Fort Smith, AR. forty grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren ,and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at St. James Baptist Church in Fort Smith, AR. with interment at The U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR.
Pallbearers were Greylan Williams, Phillip Knauls, Lester Knauls, James Knauls, Tony Knauls, and Thurman Knauls. Honorary pallbearers were Edward Stewart, Charles Canady and Michael Knauls.
