Funeral Services Held At Oney For Mrs. Mittie Barbee
Funeral services for Mrs. Mittie Barbee, Hinton, a well-known former resident of Carnegie and Oney community, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Oney Christian church with Rev Leonard Gillingham officiating. Burial was in the
Oney cemetery.
Mrs. Barbee died October 2 in the Anadarko hospital after being ill about two months.
She was born in Montgomery county, Texas, on November 5, 1881. She was married to Thomas F. Barbee on October 21, 1900, at Cordell. In 1917 they moved to Caddo county.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church.
Surviving her are two sons, D.W. and Sam Barbee, both of Hinton; four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Mooter, Fort Cobb, Mrs. Ruby McAnally, Binger, Mrs. Lettie Francis of Midwest City, and Mrs. Nadine Chambers, Claremore, Okla.; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; one brother, W.D. Williams, Oklahoma City; and one sister, Mrs. Callie Smith, Roosevelt.
Pallbearers were Louie Sesline, Keith Pond, Roy McPherson, Bill Griffin, Willie McAnally and Claude Harris. Honorary bearers were Ray Plaster, Buster McPherson, Walter Elliott, Delvie Adams, Dave Johnson and Vernie McAnally.
