Alexander and Charity returned to Cornwall for a family visit in early 1912 and were returning to the USA third class on the Titanic. Also returning with them was their nephew, William Henry Nancarrow.
The Titanic hit an iceberg and sank. Mr Alexander Robins was lost in the sinking. His body was subsequently recovered by the MacKay Bennett ship no 119 along with that of his wife no 7. Their remains were taken to their daughter in Yonkers, NY.He is buried with his wife in Oakland Cemetary in Yonkers, NY, USA.
