He was a native of Nansemond County and lived here 50 years. His parents were John W. and Mrs. Nellie Addison Beale.
He formerly worked as a brickmason.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annie Dixon Beale; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Davenport, Mrs. Phyllis Hudson and Miss Joyce Beale; a son, Henderson Lee Beale Jr.; five sisters, Mrs. Daisy Richardson, Mrs. Louise Brown, Mrs. Eunice Crumpler, Mrs. Nellie Garrett and Mrs. Margaret Willoughby of Norfolk; two brothers, the Rev. Earl D. Beale of Norfolk and John A. Beale of Suffolk; and five grandchildren.
The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held.
