HENRY CARSTENSEN
OLIN - The funeral of Henry Carstensen, 71, Anamosa, was held at 1:30 p.m. Nov 9 at Hayden's Funeral home, Olin, Internment was in Olin cemetery, Rev. Ralph Grote officiated.
Mr. Carstensen died Nov 6 at Anamosa Community hospital after several months illness. He was born Oct 24, 1905 near Hale, son of Thomas and Margaretha Ahrendsen Carstensen.
He attended rural schools and the Oxford Jct school. He was married May 6, 1933 to Marietta Lyon at Anamosa.
He was a stock and grain farmer in the Olin and Anamosa areas before moving to Anamosa in 1973.
Surviving are his wife: two brothers, John of Oxford Jct. and Albert of Lisbon; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Ritze of Moline, Ill. and Frieda Smith, Rib Lake, Wis.
His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Harry Pegorick, Freddie Pegorick, Johnnie Pegorick, Charles Carstensen, Douglas Hoover and Harold Ellison.
