Hazel Ellen Sivert was born on March 26, 1912, in Elkton, South Dakota, to Fred and Mae (Strong) Sivert. She taught "country school", first in western Minnesota, then in the West Concord area after moving there in 1941. Later, Hazel became a supervisor in Mayo Clinic's Business Office from 1961 until 1976 when she retired. Hazel is a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in West Concord. Hazel is survived by her children, Michael Andersen, of West Concord, Minnesota, and Sandra Schaefer, of Kasson, Minnesota; six grandchildren: Lori Schaefer, of St. Paul, Minnesota; Lisa (David) Sherrington, of Rochester, Minnesota; Thomas Schaefer, of Zumbrota, Minnesota; Timothy (Amy) Schaefer, of Scottsdale, Arizona; Tracy (Karla) Schaefer, of Little Falls, Minnesota; and Kristine Schaefer, of Stewartville, Minnesota; two sisters: Irene (Gale) Blomdahl, of Hemet, California; and Mary Fay, of Murrietta, California; and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; Fred and Mae Sivert, her sister, Margie Sivert, and her brother, Mark Sivert.
