Mrs. Whitfield (Lola) Adamson, 72, passed away Sunday, January 13, at 7:55 p.m. in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.

Her home was at 1114 West Main St., Cherokee, Iowa. She had been a resident of Cherokee the past 14 years, prior to this she had lived on a farm in Pilot Township. She was born November 30, 1901 at Elk Creek, Nebraska.

The former Lola Re Grove, she was married to Whitfield Adamson on January 24, 1923 at Cadams, Nebraska.

She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Darrell Adamson of Cherokee, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Twila) Griffith of Scottsdale, Arizona and Mrs. LaDonna Hughley of St. Paul, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and two brothers, Elza Grove of Superior and Eldon Grove of Edgar.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 16, 1974 at 2 p.m. from the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Noblitt officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The Boothby Funeral Home was in charge.
