Services for Amelia Sarah (Frazer) Arterburn, age 90, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Turnbull officiating. Interment will follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Amelia's grandsons, Adam Arterburn, Brian Arterburn, Chris Arterburn, Shannon Arterburn, J.W. Arterburn and Brandon Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers include John Arterburn, Wade Arterburn and Nick Steinbrink. Amelia Sarah Arterburn was one of three children born to Gilbert and Emma (Helmcamp) Frazer on March 16, 1916, in Gilbert, Neb., and passed from this life on June 21, 2006, in Muskogee. Amelia attended school in Nebraska. She later married the love of her life, James H. Arterburn in Los Angeles. Together, they raised four sons and one daughter, John, Wayne, Jim, Jan and Charles. Ameila devoted her life to caring for her husband and their children. She enjoyed the time she spent with them immensely, be it shopping for antiques, attending functions, or traveling to new places. James and Amelia shared the hobby of bird watching. When not busy at home, she devoted countless hours to the First Christian Church of Tahlequah, serving in whatever capacity was asked of her. Her zeal for life and beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Amelia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James H. Arterburn in 1991; her daughter, Jan Sheets in 2000; her son, John G. Arterburn in February 2006; and a brother, Bob Frazer. Those left to cherish Amelia's memory include her sons, Randolph Wayne Arterburn and wife Linda of Muskogee, James W. Arterburn and wife Doris of Tulsa, and Charles L. Arterburn and wife Kathy of Daveport, Iowa; one brother, Bill Frazer of Huntington Beach, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
