CHATFIELD -- Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church of Chatfield for Harold "Dick'' Bailey, 74, of rural Chatfield, who died Sunday (Oct. 13, 1996) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, where he had been a patient since Wednesday. The Rev. Dennis Cox-Townsend will officiate and burial will be in Chatfield Cemetery.
Mr. Bailey, a retired farmer, was born Dec. 22, 1921, in rural Charfield. He never married.
He graduated from Chatfield High School in 1940 and lived in rural Chatfield until entering the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield in 1991.
He was a member of the Nature Conservancy, the Audubon Society, the Sierra Club and the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include a brother, Maurice Bailey and a sister, Helene (Mrs. Dwaine) Spelhaug, both of Chatfield.
Friends may call at the church for an hour before the Thursday service. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield is in charge of arrangements.
