MRS. CATHERINE "KATE" ANKRIM, 72, of South Point Rt. 3, Ohio, died Saturday, May 19, 1979, in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, following an illness of several months. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tracy-Brammer Funeral Home, Ironton, by the Rev. Charles Norris. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. She was born July 18, 1906, in South Point, a daughter of the late C. H. and Ella Rile Brubaker. She and her husband operated a dairy farm in South Point. She drove a school bus in the South Point district for 30 years. She also operated Ankrim's Drive-In Restaurant and Ankrim's Carpet Store. Survivors include her husband, Marshall Ankrim; one daughter, Mrs. Catherine Jane George Morrison of Baltimore, Md.; one son, Neil Ankrim of La Habra, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Margarie Adams, Mrs. Helen Davidson and Mrs. Gertrude Ferguson, all of South Point, and Mrs. Henrietta Jenkins of Huntington; one brother, Arnold Brubaker of South Point; eight grandchildren, Terry, Gary and Cathy Morrison, Larry Edward George, Ernest, Michael, Robert and Patty Ankrim, and three great-grandchildren, Jared Morrison, Justin Morrison and Kelly Ankrim. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
