NOTE: The following obituary was published in the Clarksburg newspaper, however, the information is full of inaccuracies. Flora Bailey's father is JOHN Bailey who died in 1849. It was her uncle, Minter Bailey Jr., who was the founder of Bailey House and sheriff and died on his way to Charleston in 1867. Uncle Minter was "a wonderful father-like figure to all 8 of his brother's children." Theresa Brown.

The Clarksburg Telegram, February 7, 1919:
"BEATTIE, MRS. FLORA BAILEY born in Clarksburg January 23, 1840. Her father was founder of the Old Bailey House in Weston, and was sheriff of Weston at the time of his death. He died on his way to Charleston at the close of the Civil War. Her husband died several years ago. Mrs. Richard Harrison and Mrs. George I. Keener of Weston, survive. She died at the home of another daughter at Marion, Va. on Thursday."
