Danville — Claude W. "Red" Cummings, 82, died February 9 in Danville. He was born February 11, 1916 to Wans and Blanche (Kennedy) Cummings. He was married to Maxine (Euliss) Cummings. She survives. He was a machinist at Kenney Machinery for 33 years, retiring in 1981. He served in the US Army during WWII. Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Miller of Greenfield, Connie Lehr of Danville and JoAnn Strahl of Greenwood; one son, Ray Cummings of Danville; one brother, Thomas Cummings of Plainfield; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were February 12 at Conkle Funeral Home, Hendricks County Chapel, Avon, with Chaplain Rick Shaw officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vista Hospice Care Foundation, 2601 Fortune Circle E. Drive #105 B, Indianapolis, Indiana 46241.
