MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY —Velma West, 90, Goode Road, KY passed away at 10:38 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Muhlenberg County, she was born June 29, 1919, the daughter of the late Elmer and Goldie Heltsley Dunn. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Charlie West, died in 2009.
Survivors include four sons, Morris Goode, Alachua, Fla., Jerry Goode, LaCross, Fla., Richard Goode, North Carolina, Ronnie Goode, Christian County; five daughters, Carol Birdsong, Bergerion, La., Barbara Herrington, Christian County, Delorse Wisnke, Lexington, Faye Taylor, Lewisburg, Tenn.; Deborah Bedell, Gracey; a sister, Betty Lancaster, Hopkinsville; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Velma West will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Dale Combs officiating.
Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1 until time for the service.
