Rose, as she was called, was the second child of seven children born to Gustavus George Reiniger and Eliza Aimsworth Meacham. Some say Rose's mother was a Rosa Durr. Rosalie married John David Willson. They had four children:

John Cedric Reiniger Willson
Robert Reiniger Meredith Willson ("The Music Man")

Rosalie, a piano teacher, gathered the family around the piano every evening to sing favorite songs.

Their marriage ended in divorce.

Rosalie's husband passed away on 10 Jan 1931 in Mason City, Iowa, USA.
