Lloyd Ray Douglas was born September 23, 1935 in Sparks, Oklahoma to Cordeus and Rosa Mae (Griffin) Douglas. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, in Bristow, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years.

Lloyd graduated from Chandler High School in 1954 and went on to college at Oklahoma State University.

On November 6, 1954, Lloyd was united in marriage with Melba Lou Kelso and to this union six children were born. Lloyd was an avid Rancher. He loved the land and sitting in the yard with his dog, Jack. He also enjoyed gardening, riding horses, cooking BBQ, and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. On June 10, 2007, he was baptized and added to God's family. Since then, he has been a happy and devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church. He is now sitting in heaven probably playing with his granddaughter, Amber.

Lloyd is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife Melba of the home in Bristow; six children; one daughter-in-law, two sisters-in-law; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two honorary granddaughters. Other relatives and many friends also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cordeus Douglas and Nolan Douglas; and one granddaughter, Amber Lynn Douglas.

Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Gowdy officiating. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery, near Chandler, Oklahoma.
