Thomas V. 'Rudy' Barragan

Thomas V. "Rudy" Barragan, 78, born Sept. 30, 1927, in Jerome, died May 9, 2006, in Phoenix.

He lived in the Verde Valley until 1950 before moving from Jerome to Ajo. He was a foreman for Phelps Dodge, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Club 20, the Ajo Country Club and Knights of Columbus, and a member of Catholic Church.

He enjoyed carpentry, golf, electrical work and calligraphy.

Survivors include daughters Dorina Barragan, of Chandler, Debra Moreno of Phoenix, Cindy Sepulveda, of Morenci, and Kathy Morales, of Ajo; a sister, Natalie Rincon; and six grandchildren.

He was buried in the Ajo Cemetery next to his wife, Esther Barragan, who died May 14, 2001. Arrangements were made by Douglass Funeral Home in Ajo.
