James 'Biddy' Stewart, 88, of West Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Overbrook Center.

He was born Nov. 4, 1922 in Mason, a son of the late Charles C. and Sylvia (Ingels) Stewart.

Biddy was a World War II Army Veteran. He was retired from Meigs Mine #3, and was a member of the VFW Post No. 9926, American Legion Post No. 140, and the Broad Run Rod and Gun Club. He also was a lifetime member of Shade River Coonhunters Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Stewart; and brothers, Mack, Harry 'Bob', Howard, Alfred 'Skip', Von 'Jay', and Norman 'Red' Stewart.

He is survived by his daughters, Toni Givens of Mason, and Kellie (Rod) Hogle of DeGraff, Ohio; son, James 'Bub' (Jill) Stewart of West Columbia; sister, Sally Stewart of Crestline, Ohio; sister-in-laws, Loretta Stewart of New Haven, and Okie Stewart of Korea; grandchildren, George (Kathy) Turner, Chasity (Jason) Roby, Randi (Carl) Carmichael, Jamie (Jimmy) Stewart, and Jessie Stewart; great grandchildren, Sierra Carmichael, Kodi, Kailynn, Britton, and Jayce Roby, and Wyatt Reitmire; a very special caregiver who loved and cared for him during his illness, Sherry McKinney; and several nieces of nephews.

Biddy was loved by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 28, at the Foglesong-Roush Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites being performed by the VFW Post No. 9926 and American Legion Post No. 140. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
