Last Rites Are Held For A. R. Andrews, Phone Manager
Funeral services for Adrian Ray Andrews, 55, commercial manager of the Libertyville office of the Illinois Bell Telephone Co., were held Tuesday afternoon at the Libertyville Presbyterian church. Interment was in Diamond Lake cemetery. Mr. Andrews, widely known throughout this community, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home, 122 N. Second st., Saturday night.
He was born in Diamond Lake on March 14, 1889, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Andrews. He was educated in the elementary schools of Diamond Lake and a business college in Waukegan. In 1909 he entered the employ of the Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and was manager of the company’s offices at Lewiston, Ill. In 1912 he came to Libertyville as manager of the company’s offices, holding that position at the time of death. in 1912 he was married to Mabel M. Rudolph of Des Plaines. Las summer he was given a testimonial dinner upon completing 35 years service with the telephone company.
He is survived by his widow, one son, Vernon R. Andrews, Libertyville, and one daughter, Mrs. Verna Mae Elsesser, Mendota. He was a member of the Libertyville Lions club.
Mr. Andrews was stricken with a heart attack while reading about 10 P.M. Saturday. A physician was called. The fire department’s resuscitator was used in an effort to revive him, but at 10:30 he was pronounced dead.
