Cyril R. Aelvoet, age 78, of Castroville, TX, passed away January 1, 2004 at his home. Cyril was born Oct. 6, 1925, in San Antonio, TX, to the late Richard and Florine DeBaecker Aelvoet.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Alice Verstuyft Aelvoet; loving children: Richard "Rick" and Rose Aelvoet, Robert and Elaina Aelvoet, Hilde and Bob Persyn, Brenda and Patrick Foegelle, Laurie and Theron Mund, Sandy and Ronald Kunkel, Lisa and Harry Covert; 20 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law: Phil and Laura Aelvoet; father-in-law: Homer Verstuyft; Devoted in-laws, Joe and Laurine Van Hecke, John and Clara Wauters, Fred and Hilda Wauters, Homer Jr. and Jan Verstuyft, and Margie Lubianski; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. His sister, Evelyn Persyn, preceded him in death.

Cyril was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the Belgian American Club.

The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville, TX. Rosary will be held on Monday, Jan. 5, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. followed by entombment in St. Louis Garden Mausoleum in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Louis School, Belgian-American Club Scholarship Fund, or Parkinson's Research Fund
