CATHERINE A. KURTZ, 88, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at her daughter's home in Commerce Township, Mich. Born in Arcola, she was a lifelong resident of Lake Township, Allen County, a cook with Arcola School for 12 years, retiring in 1979, and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church.

Survivors include daughters, Nancy K. Stephan of Fisher, Linda L. Schubert of Fort Wayne, Kim A. Kurtz-Seslar of Commerce Township, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen M. Miller and Marietta Stanski, both of Fort Wayne; and sister-in-law, Hilda Harmeyer of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ora R. Kurtz, in 2001, and son, Michael O. Kurtz, in 2003.

Service is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 7914 W. Cook Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to St. Johns Lutheran Church or Odyssey Health Care Inc., Southfield, Mich.
