Jerdie L. Cornish is taken by death
Jerdie L. Cornish, 49, of Route 3, died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday after suffering a fatal heart attack at his home. Mr. Cornish was dead on arrival at the Adams County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Cornish was an employee at the B.F. Goodrich Co. at Woodburn the past five years, and had previously worked at the Krick-Tyndall Co. in Decatur for 11 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving in France and saw action in the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Cornish was born on December 29, 1921, in Nashville, Ark., a son of J.C. and Jennie Waldon-Cornish, and was married to Christine Chandler on August 4, 1945.
Surviving are his wife; two children, Jerry Lee Cornish of Route 1, and Mrs. Joe (Donna) Kiess of Knightstown; two brothers, David and Olin Cornish of Gary; one half-brother, Glen Davis Cornish of Hot Springs, Ark., his step-mother, Mrs. Francis Cornish of Nashville, Ark., and two grandchildren.
Tentative funeral services are scheduled for Monday morning at the Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, Ark., with burial in the Academy Cemetery, Nathan, Ark. Friends may call at the Zwick Funeral Home from 12 noon until 10 p.m. today.
