Jean Ruth Blackman, 83, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, in Arlington. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday at New York Avenue Church of Christ, 5371 New York Ave., Arlington, Mr. Bill Keel officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Jean was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Clifton to J.E. and Mabel Cox Mullins. She was a longtime resident of Arlington and retired from food administration with the Arlington ISD. Jean was a member of New York Avenue Church of Christ in Arlington. Survivors: Beloved husband of 64 years, James D. Blackman; sons, David Blackman (Jan), Mark Blackman (Linda), all of Arlington; daughters, Kathy Blackman of Arlington, Carol Scott (Mark) of Hubbard; sister, Lynn Rice of Valley Mills; brothers, Jerry Mullins of Abilene and Don Mullins of Florida; and seven grandchildren.
