Edward "Ed" Albert Bohte, 94, Town of Greenwood, died Wednesday, Jan. 19 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Jan. 22 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Interment was at St. Ann's Cemetery in the Town of Greenwood. Pallbearers were Chad Bohte, Mark VanderKoy, Nick Bohte, Eric Heritage, Ron Wendorski, Jason Nordby, Dustin Chapman and Kevin Rogers.
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
Edward Bohte was born on October 11, 1916 on the family homestead in the Town of Greenwood to the late Joseph and Anna (Plautz) Bohte. He attended Rib River Grade School.
On July 31, 1943 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he married Estelle Louise Schaff, who survives. He farmed his entire life, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib River School Board, trustee committee at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Farmers Union. He enjoyed playing sheepshead and cribbage, reading and spending time with his family.
