A Valley Springs, SD, native, Emma Lamb, died Thursday 17, 2004, at the Parkview Nursing Home in Bryant.

Emma Rose Wilhelmina Hartman was born April 16, 1908, at Valley Springs to August and Engelline Hartman. She graduated from Sioux Falls Washington High School in 1926. She worked at the Woolworth Dime Store from 1926-1929.

She married Edgar A. Lamb on August 21, 1928, at Algona, Iowa. The couple had three children.

Mrs. Lamb and her family lived near Quinn, SD, for 19 years, and during that time she worked for two years at the Star Cafe. She moved to Flandreau in 1963 and to Sioux Falls in 1968. For six years, she worked at the Luther Manor Nursing Home as a cook, and she knitted sweaters for Happy Hangup for seven years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and needlepoint.

Mrs. Lamb had attended Asbury Methodist Church since 1968.

She is survived by her daughter, Lila Warner of Brandon, and her son, Dean Lamb of Flandreau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, who died July 4, 1967, and a daughter, Eileen, in 1950.
